Back to Shenzhen Assistant

Privacy, in plain language.

Shenzhen Assistant is a local operations service for founders in Shenzhen. This notice applies to our website, service enquiries and optional newsletter. Updated October 21, 2026.

What you share

The form collects your name, email address, type of request, optional timing and the description you provide. You can also give a phone number and choose a messenger (WeChat, Telegram or WhatsApp) with your number, ID or username for faster replies. We also record when the request was submitted and your agreement to this notice. Please do not submit passports, payment details, confidential designs or other sensitive documents.

Why we use it

We use your details to review your enquiry, respond by email, discuss scope and availability, and coordinate next steps you agree to. If you give a phone number or messenger details, we use them only to contact you about your request, never for marketing or to add you to groups. Submitting a form does not book a service, authorise a purchase or sign you up for marketing.

Newsletter: a separate choice

If you click Subscribe, we store your email address, subscription status, subscription time and the version of the consent notice you accepted. We use your consent to send Shenzhen Assistant tips and service updates only. We do not add service enquiries to the newsletter, share this list with AI Pets or sell it. There is no automatic email on signup. Every newsletter we send must include an unsubscribe link; opening that link alone does not unsubscribe you until you confirm. You can also withdraw consent through a privacy request. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Legal bases

For people covered by European data protection law, we process service enquiries to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform agreed services. Necessary security and abuse prevention rely on our legitimate interests in protecting the site and its users. Newsletter marketing relies on your consent. We may retain information where required by a legal obligation. Agreeing to be contacted about a service enquiry is not consent to marketing.

Where requests go

Requests and newsletter subscriptions are stored in a private Cloudflare D1 database in the service owner’s Cloudflare account. Access is restricted to authorised account operators. The form does not automatically send your information to vendors or contractors. If a task requires sharing information with someone else, that will be discussed as part of agreeing the work.

Security and hosting

Cloudflare hosts this website and processes network information such as your IP address to deliver and protect it. For form abuse prevention, the application stores a keyed hash of your IP address with a request counter, not the raw address. Cloudflare may process technical network data under its own service policies.

The site uses locally hosted fonts. It currently has no advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts or marketing cookies. Form details are not saved in your browser’s local storage.

Our controller is Gauss Labs Limited in Hong Kong, at the address below. Authorised operators may handle enquiries in Hong Kong and mainland China; Cloudflare operates internationally. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country, including outside the EEA or UK. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, those safeguards must be in place; contact us for information about arrangements relevant to your request. We do not use your information for automated decisions or profiling.

Retention and your choices

Enquiries are retained while needed for review, follow-up and any agreed service. Retention is managed manually by the account owner; there is no automatic deletion schedule. You may ask to see, correct or delete your enquiry by selecting “Privacy request” in the request form and using the same email address. We may need to verify the request before acting.

Newsletter records are retained while subscribed. After withdrawal, the address is marked unsubscribed and excluded from future mailing exports; a limited consent and withdrawal record is kept where needed to honour your choice and resolve disputes. This is reviewed manually, not kept under an automated deletion schedule. Ask us to delete your details if you no longer want us to retain them, subject to any necessary legal obligations.

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You may complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, including an EEA authority, the UK ICO or the relevant local authority. Choose “Privacy request” in our contact form, describe what you need and provide an email where we can respond. We may verify your identity; do not send identity documents in the form. We handle requests within applicable legal time limits.
